Imagine Your Own Peaceful Place Relaxation Script
Get ready to imagine your own peaceful place by getting into a restful position. Lying down is best. Close your eyes, and begin to slow your breathing to a calm, steady rhythm.
Take a moment just to focus on your breathing. Pay attention to each breath as the air moves gently in and out as you breathe.
(Pause)
Gradually allow your breathing to become slower…calmer…and more relaxed.
Begin to relax your body by making a point of letting your body be limp and loose. Go ahead and let go of any tension you may have been holding onto.
Let your arms be loose and relaxed. Focus on releasing the muscles of your arms…holding nothing…letting go of all tension…loosening and relaxing.
Now relax your legs. Let your legs become limp. Let the muscles rest, doing nothing.
Relax your shoulders. Just let gravity move your shoulders into a relaxed position. Allow the muscles to give up their hold, relaxing and releasing.
Relax your neck and back…so nice and loose and relaxed.
As you continue to breathe smooth, relaxed breaths, notice any areas where your muscles are holding onto tension. Let these areas soften as you focus on letting the muscles there go limp, becoming relaxed and loose.
Allow your entire body to relax.
Notice how still your body has become. The only movement is the gentle rise and fall of your chest and stomach with each breath. Let your breathing be calm, relaxed, and effortless.
Turn your focus inward now, and imagine your own peaceful place in your mind. This peaceful place can be anywhere you wish, real or imagined. Think about this peaceful place.
